When Dermalogica offered us at Bellabox HQ the chance to try out the Dermalogica Individualised Mapping Facial at Clover by the Spa we were intrigued…and, ok, I’ll admit it, a little bit nervous. Having someone map my face and tell me all the forks in the road and bumps in the bitumen did not fill me with much hope for a fun afternoon – but I couldn’t have been more wrong! My therapist, Kevin, welcomed me warmly and put me at ease immediately. I was reassured by his knowledge and understanding of my skin worries.

What is face mapping?

Face mapping is Dermalogica’s unique approach to skin analysis developed by the International Dermal Institute exclusively for Dermalogica.  Your face is divided into 14 zones and each one is thoroughly examined inch by inch through touch and sight to provide an insight into individual skin types.  The whole process takes no longer than 10 minutes and Kevin recorded what he found and then took me through his recommendations for treating my skin in a way that would be most beneficial to it. Kevin then led me into one of the therapy rooms for an individualised facial.

First Kevin cleansed my skin then applied a Dermalogica in-salon exfoliation treatment combined with the Multi-Vitamin Thermafoliant, which can be used at home, to remove dead skin cells and expose fresh, smooth and soft skin underneath. Kevin warned that the treatment may cause a little discomfort as it deeply exfoliated my face but it was completely painless. Throughout the remainder of my treatment that included moisturising, the Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster, and the Age Reversal Eye Complex, then I was treated to a head, neck and shoulder massage.  And that was it done!  Not even a hint of irritation or redness and just baby soft skin.

Not only did I leave Clover by the Spa with super silky skin but at the end of my session I also had in my hot little hands the findings of the face mapping consultation, plus suggestions for how to best look after my skin at home with the Dermalogica products that will have me looking my best.
