If it's one part of the face that many things can go wrong with, it's the eyebrows. Many people often forget how important the eyebrows are until the internet meme of celebrities without their eyebrows started going viral. Eyebrows are important; even the golden ratio is applied to the eyebrows, involving how it should arch or extend in order to best suit your face shape. A good well-groomed eyebrow enhances your features and frames the face.

As shown by MaskCara, eyebrows make a world of difference when it comes to makeup and no one should be ignoring their eyebrows when it comes to doing your makeup.

Your question would probably be: "How should we stop ignoring our eyebrows then?"

That's what we would be addressing here. From the shape to how we should groom it, we pay some attention to the most ignored feature on our face.

Golden Ratio of eyebrows

We have heard much about this Golden Ratio of eyebrow, but what exactly is it? As discussed previously in our post about how to draw the perfect brows, this Golden Ratio determines where the eyebrow starts and ends, as well as where it should arch. Trimming and drawing your eyebrows while following these guidelines will ensure the proper eyebrow shape for your face.

Eyebrow shape versus Face shape

There are 6 basic face shapes. To determine which face shape you are, simply pull your hair back and look out for the following and how they correspond to the shapes:

• Hairline
• Cheekbones
• Chin

After you have determined your face shape, we take a look at what kind of eyebrow shape you should go for.

• Oval:  Often considered the ideal face shape, the brows play little role in creating the illusion of the perfect face shape as it is already the best possible shape. Focus on taming the brows and filling in the gaps (if any).
• Round: The goal of the eyebrow shape for people with round faces is to make them appear longer and less round. Create a high arch that looks natural (not too high or you will look permanently surprised) and it will help lengthen the face.
• Long: Go for a flat eyebrow shape to "shorten" the face. Anything with archs would lengthen the face and make a long face appear even longer.
• Square: Balance a strong jawline with a strong brow (defined peak at the start of the brow) or an eyebrow shape with a softer curve to soften your features.
• Heart: Rounded eyebrows suit heart-shaped faces the best. If you have a shorter heart-shaped face, consider  a higher arch to add length to your face.
• Diamond: The curved brow would be perfect for the diamond-shaped face as it softens the features and make the widest part of the face appear less wide.

Grooming and trimming
This is where it gets tricky because it involves work! There's a variety of options available for trimming the eyebrows. Some people prefer using Tweezers  as it is precise and would take longer for regrowth. There is also the option of eyebrow threading but like tweezing, if your tolerance for pain is low, it might prove to be unbearable. Using a razor would be an option for those who are afraid of pain. Sasa's mini razor is small and allows you to groom your eyebrows with precision.

Makeup and drawing the eyebrows
Some of us are not blessed with thick, uniform looking eyebrows so a little makeup goes a long way. For softer shading and filling in of the gaps, using eyebrow powder with an angled brush will do the trick. If you like your eyebrow shape to be more defined, an eyebrow pencil would be perfect. Take care not to make the lines too harsh or it will look like it has been Sharpie-d on.

Want to look glamourous like the stars? I'll let you in on a secret, it usually takes more than one day to primp themselves to be ready for the red carpet. If you have an event or if your big day is coming up and you would like to look picture perfect, here's a beauty routine you should follow.

3-4 weeks before

The 3-4 weeks leading up to the event is crucial as you need to prepare your skin to be in the optimum condition. The average skin renewal cycle is about 28days which means that the products that you are using for your skin will show results in about 21-28 days.

• Exfoliate and detoxify your skin

  It is recommended to exfoliate your skin gently to remove the dead skin cells on the surface so that your skin would appear brighter. If you are worried about the toxins and dirt deep within the skin, use Cellilux Glacial Mineral Gel; it contains ionised water to draw the toxins out while exfoliating the skin.

• Banish zits
  

  The weeks leading up to the big day could be very stressful and some of us may experience a breakout when the stress level is high. Get rid of those zits with products that contains salicylic acid. Before the event

• Get plenty of sleep

• De-puff the under eye area and lighten the dark circles

  You might be kept up all night by the anxiety so here's a quick fix solution for the under eye area.   The weather in Singapore can be brutal; between sweat and humidity, the results on your makeup can be disastrous. • Remember to pack your lipstick and powder

The state of your under eye area either makes or breaks your face (not literally of course). Whether it is the lack of sleep or tell-tale signs of aging, the delicate eye area usually reflects the most about the skin. The theme of this year's Met Ball was "Punk: From Chaos to Couture" and I must say, it is simply a delight going through the photos to see how celebrities interpreted the theme. There were many looks that were obvious favorites while some were controversial and subject to argument but the one that garnered much praise was Anne Hathaway's rendition of "punk".

Spotting a bleached blonde look and flawless makeup, her look was perfect for the "punk" theme without being too over the top. We loved it so much that we thought that we should share the products that was used for this look.
