Guest Blogger: Beetrice’s Code To Rejuvenated Skin

Beetrice's blog, Beetrice's Reviews, is the trusted source for many looking to discover the best in beauty for Asian skin in a market oft saturated by products designed for Westerners. Today, as guest blogger for Bellabox, she delivers her verdict on the L'Oreal Youth Code Boosting Essence in her August box - and dispenses a few little nuggets of wisdom of her own!

When I opened the August Bellabox and found a sample of the L’Oreal Youth Code Boosting Essence inside, I was quite amused and pleased – you see, I’d already been a user of Youth Code for some months now, and it just added to my precious stash (hey, every little bit counts!).

I’d first trialled Youth Code when it went on sale at my local pharmacy, and haven’t looked back since. As a pre-essence, L’Oreal Youth Code functions to boost your skin quality and give you, well, luminous skin when used twice a day before your usual skincare routine.

The L’Oreal Youth Code comes in a pretty hefty glass bottle with dropper, which I quite like as it’s easy to dispense the amount you want. The pre-essence itself is a cloudy white with a consistency somewhere between liquid and gel.

When applied just after my evening shower, I find that it sinks in really well. In fact, I also have a habit of mixing my serums prior to application, and the Youth Code paired with my Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate as well as Dermalogica Overnight Repair Serum have worked beautifully to give me “boing boing” plumped up skin in the mornings when I wake up. :D

I’m sure the question I’ll get is “does it work on its own”? Well, I’ve been blessed with relatively good skin so I can’t attest to the rejuvenating effects of this pre-essence BUT it does give me an added luminosity to my skin that the rest of my skincare doesn’t. Even the boyfriend who isn’t the most observant when it comes to skincare thinks that this Youth Code agrees with me, and has happily encouraged me to stock up on it when it goes on sale. Score!

Did you know that 10 years of research have gone into this product, which is supposed to activate a specific factor to help boost your skin’s recovery power more like it did when it was younger…up to five times faster!

It’s recommended that you use this twice a day in the morning and evening for a month to see significant results, but you’ll actually start seeing some improvement from one week onwards. A friend of mine found that her faint naso-labial lines faded after a month’s use of Youth Code as well, which is what prompted me to try it in the first place.

Oh, and here a little tip of mine to share – ever had a moisturiser or cream that was great, but too rich for your skin? You can mix it with a little bit of Youth Code when you apply it, and it helps to lighten the texture of the cream, making it a lot easier to work with! :D I’ve used it with a couple of moisturisers so far, and they’ve worked out brilliantly. Much better than having to get rid of it, especially if it’s an expensive cream! Go on, give it a try…you know you want to! *wink*

Move aside Da Vinci, I’ll take the L’Oreal Youth Code any day!
